Spring Ford Business Alliance holds mixer

In a world of multi-tasking and heavy time pressures, visiting half a dozen businesses to accomplish one project can be a daunting undertaking.

The Spring Ford Business Alliance has a solution. Formed about a year ago, the SFBA is a group of about 35 businesses which create a “virtual company under one roof,” according to SFBA member Jay Bustard, of Jay R. Bustard Advertising.

For example, he said, if someone wants to buy a copier, have it networked and needs to have an electrical line put in for it, businesses which can meet each of those needs can be found in the SFBA. The copier salesperson could refer the client to an information technology firm for the networking and an electrician for the wiring.

SFBA is “trying to make it easy for clients,” Bustard added.

The Alliance held its first business mixer recently at Spring-Ford Country Club. More than 100 area businesspeople visited the mixer to learn what SFBA has to offer. “We wanted to let people know about what’s going on and introduce ourselves to the community,” Bustard said.

Peggy Brendlinger, of Tri-County Area Federal Credit Union, said the business owners and professionals in SFBA “network ourselves … as one big corporate organization.” In keeping with the nature of the Alliance, only one member per profession is included.

SFBA President Rick Storms, of St. Pedro & Associates, remarked, “What I think is really great about the Alliance, it’s almost like prescreened.” The businesses “hold each other accountable,” he said. “That’s what I think a big advantage of it is.”

Ken Greenfield of Keller Williams Realty Group noted the businesses “work together as a team so people can do one-stop shopping, with time being so precious these days.”

Showcasing their services for both businesses and residential customers at the mixer were the Spring-Ford Country Club, InfoConcepts, Sign-A-Rama, The UPS Store, Sweet Ashley’s Chocolate, Jay R. Bustard Advertising, Tri-County Area Federal Credit Union, Orlando’s Photography, Account Insource, Moyer-Drabick & Associates, AFLAC.

And, Achin’ Back Garden Center, JL Davis Insurance, Owens Electric, St. Pedro & Associates, Executive Security Services, Dirks Pest Management, Keller Williams Realty, KCL Construction, The Duct Pros, H&H Home Inspections, Tara Houseal massage therapy, Custom Iron Works, Brandywine Springfield Waterproofing and Service Mark heating and cooling.
