The Limerick Parks and Recreation Committee has put together a full schedule of summer activities for children of all ages, as well as some for adults.
A baton twirling clinic will be held on Mondays, June 18 to Aug. 13, at Limerick Veterans Park. Children will discover the fun in baton twirling, including good posture, gracefulness and coordination. Batons are available for purchase or to borrow. Children should wear sneakers.
Beginners classes are 6 to 7 p.m. and developmental, 7 to 8 p.m. Fee is $75 per person.
A cheerleading clinic will be offered on Thursdays, June 21 to Aug. 16. Children will learn cheers, chants, dances, leaps and teamwork, all while having fun. Pom poms are available for purchase. Children should wear sneakers.
Sessions for children in kindergarten through second grade will be 6 to 7 p.m. and for third grade and up, 7 to 8 p.m. The clinic will be held at Limerick Veterans Park. Fee is $75 per person.
Fossil Formation is on tap Monday and Tuesday, June 18 and 19, 9 a.m. to noon, at Limerick Veterans Park. Children ages 9 to 13 are invited to explore how fossils are made and create their own in the fun and educational program. Fee is $30 per person.
Weather Wise will allow children ages 8 to 12 to learn about the weather while doing fun and educational experiments. The class will be held Wednesday and Thursday, June 20 and 21, 9 a.m. to noon, at Limerick Veterans Park. Fee is $30 per person.
Tennis clinics will be offered Wednesdays, June 20 to Aug. 15, at the township tennis courts. Children will learn the game and skills of tennis with instructors from the Greater Pottstown Tennis Association. Children should dress for activity and bring a racket.
Clinics for ages 4 to 10 will be 6 to 7 p.m.; ages 11 to 17, 7 to 8 p.m., and adults age 18 and over, 8 to 9 p.m. Fee is $65 per person.
A volleyball camp is planned Monday through Friday, Aug. 6 to 10, at the Limerick Community Park sand courts. The basic skills of the sport will be taught. Children will learn individual skills and team skills, as well as play games.
Camp I for children ages 8 to 10 will be 9 to 11 a.m., and Camp II, for ages 11 to 13, 9 a.m. to noon. Fee for Camp I is $55 per person, and for Camp II, $70 per person. Registration deadline is Wednesday, Aug. 1.
A baton, cheer and dance camp will be held Monday through Friday, June 25 to 29, at Limerick Veterans Park. The camp, for children in kindergarten through fourth grade, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon.
The combination camp will offer children the opportunity to learn chants and cheers, as well as twirl and dance steps. Fee is $80 per person. Registration deadline is Wednesday, June 20.
Three Science Explorers Camps will be held in July and August. Children can jump into learning and adventure at the hands-on science camp. Campers spend a full week of fun-filled activities focusing on their choice of topics. Registration deadline is the Tuesday before camp.
Camp 1, July 30 to Aug. 3, is Techonuts, for children ages 7 to 11. Camp 2, Aug. 6 to 10, for ages 4 to 6, is Jr. Explorers. Camp 3, Potions Powders, for ages 7 to 11, is Aug. 13 to 17.
All camps run from 9 a.m. to noon at Limerick Veterans Park. Fee is $175 per person.
Rocks and minerals will be on tap Friday, June 22, 9 a.m. to noon, at Limerick Veterans Park. Children ages 8 to 12 will explore rocks and their different shapes in the fun and educational program. Fee is $15 per person.
Wild and Wacky Science Day, with fun and wacky experiments, will be Wednesday, Aug. 22, 9 a.m. to noon, at Limerick Veterans Park. The program is for ages 8 to 12, and the fee is $25 per person. Registration deadline is Friday, Aug. 17.
Basketball clinics will be offered on three June Saturdays at the Limerick Community Park basketball courts. Children will have the opportunity to elevate their game and perfect their skills with Keith Herron, decorated basketball star from Villanova and the Portland Trailblazers.
Clinic I, Saturday, June 16, is for boys ages 10 to 12; Clinic II, Saturday, June 23, girls ages 10 to 12, and Clinic III, Saturday, June 30, boys ages 13 to 16. The clinics run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and fee is $65 per person. Registration deadline is the Monday before.
King Baseball Camp will be Monday to Friday, July 9 to 13, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Limerick Community Park baseball field #1. Children will learn base running, sliding, hitting, bunting, fielding, etc. The camp will be taught by Phillies advance scout Hank King and his staff. King has 39 years’ experience.
The camp is for ages 6 to 14. Fee is $175 per person. Registration deadline is Wednesday, July 4.
Sport Squirt Camp, for ages 3 to 5, will introduce children to the sports of soccer, basketball, softball, hockey and lacrosse. All sports promote hand-eye coordination, motor skills, group participation and communication.
The camp is Monday to Friday, July 9 to 13, 4:30 to 6 p.m., at Limerick Community Park. Fee is $90 per person. Registration deadline is Wednesday, July 4.
A Multi-Sport Camp will be held Monday to Friday, July 9 to 13. During the week, children will experience over 15 different sports (in the full day program; 12 in the half-day camp) from around the world, group building games and fun activities, such as lacrosse, kickball, bocce, street hockey, flag football and more.
Camp I for ages 5 to 7 is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Camp II, ages 8 to 14, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fee is $160 per person for Camp I and $180 for Camp II. The camp will be held at Limerick Community Park. Registration deadline is Wednesday, July 4.
Messy Play Day is planned Thursday, July 5. Children ages 2 to 4 can sign up with an adult buddy for a variety of messy activities which include shaving cream, finger paints and more. The activity will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Limerick Veterans Park. Fee is $25 per person.
Lil Dawgs Football Clinic will be Monday to Thursday, June 25 to 28, for ages 6 to 9. Campers will participate and lean the fundamental skills of the game of football, including throwing, catching, kicking and blocking. The camp will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Limerick Community Park. Fee is $50 per person. Registration deadline is Tuesday, June 19.
Big Dawgs Football Camp will be Monday to Thursday, June 25 to 28, 9 a.m. to noon, for ages 8 to 14. Children will learn and develop offensive and defensive football skills as well as participate in games, skill competitions and more. The camp will be held at Limerick Community Park. Fee is $70 per person. Registration deadline is Tuesday, June 19.
Youth Tennis Camp is planned Monday to Friday, Aug. 20 to 24, at the Limerick Township tennis courts. Children will learn all the basic skills of this lifetime sport. Participants should dress for activity and bring water.
Camp I, for ages 5 to 7, will be 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.; Camp II, ages 8 to 10, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., and Camp II, ages 11 to 14, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Fee is $65 per person.
UK Elite Soccer Camp will be Monday to Friday, Aug. 20 to 24, 9 a.m. to noon, at Limerick Community Park for ages 5 to 14. Players will learn different skills through proven teaching methods from professional coaching staff. Fee is $140 per person. Registration deadline is Tuesday, Aug. 14.
July 4th Craft Day will be held Monday, July 2, 9 a.m. to noon, at Limerick Veterans Park for children ages 6 to 9. Fee is $25 per person. Registration deadline is Thursday, June 28.
Treasure box and jewelry making is planned for Tuesday, July 17, 9 a.m. to noon, at Limerick Veterans Park for children ages 6 to 9. Children will design their own special treasure box and jewelry. Fee is $25 per person. Registration deadline is Thursday, July 12.
Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Preregistration is required for all programs. Payment must accompany registration, with checks payable to Limerick Township.
Program registration forms are available at the Limerick Township Building or downloadable online at www.limerickpa.org. Complete registration form and mail with payment to 646 W. Ridge Pike, Limerick, PA 19468, or drop it off at the township building. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
