Royersford Elementary School served lunch to more than 30 area veterans on a Wednesday last fall, and created a Wall of Honor out of paper bricks as a memorial to those who have served the country.

Students had the opportunity to eat turkey, trimmings and dessert with veterans and talk with them about their experiences as part of Veterans Day observances at the school. The veterans were relatives and friends of students and staff.

The veterans also had the opportunity to see the Wall of Honor, which was set up in a school hallway. Students and their families were asked to include the name of a veteran, their branch of service, the conflict in which they fought, and their relationship to the student. More than 800 bricks were filled out and posted as part of the wall.
