Spring-Ford Intermediate School, 833 S. Lewis Road in Royersford, will host a blood drive for the American Red Cross on Monday, Feb. 1, from 2 to 8 p.m.
To promote the blood drive, the Red Cross mascot, Buddy the Blood Drop, greeted students as they arrived and left school on Monday, Jan. 25. Assistant Principal Dr. Dennis Booher donned the Buddy costume and was accompanied by Assistant Principal Teresa Carboy and Jackie Raco, registered nurse and certified school nurse.
Parents and community members may register to donate at www.pleasegiveblood.org. Click on the navy box on right to make a blood donation and then click on the words “sponsor code” which will appear when the appointment page comes up. Enter code 14565 to bring up Spring-Ford’s drive and schedule an appointment. Appointments can also be made by calling the nurse’s suite at 610-705-6113.
Walk-ins are welcome from 4 to 8 p.m. Enter at the back of the building through Door #28 and look for Room E134. All donors will be eligible to win prizes and participate in raffles with a Valentine’s Day theme.
