    Fly Eagles Fly!

Ok, it was painful watching the Eagles lose to the Giants last week in overtime.  But after watching the game this past Sunday, I was feeling much more optimistic about this season.  The offense is looking real good and continues to put up big numbers.  McNabb and Westbrook are dominating and I expect big things from them this year.  McNabb leads the NFL with 900+ passing yards and has 7 TD's and only one pick.  Westbrook has just been unstoppable and has 5 touchdowns in 3 games while averaging 5.8 yards per carry on the ground.  Yes nothing short of a Super Bowl will satisfy most Philadelphia fans after what we've been through the past so many years, but I've shaken the disappointments and am ready for another season.

The one area of concern I have though is the defense letting up in the second half.  The past two weeks the Eagles have let up 31 points in the 4th quarter!  This is a trend that needs to stop if the Eagles will have any chance this year.  When you're playing a team like Cincinnati for example, there can be no letting up or the game is lost.  I think much of what happens with the Eagles this year will depend on the defense.  We all know the offence will do their part, but the defense has to step it up if we're going to go all the way this year!  Go Eagles!

Hey all you football fans out there, we are looking for some writers to cover the season.  If you are interested in sharing your thoughts with the Spring-Ford community, please contact our Town Guide at townguide@springfordonline.com.
