So East Coventry has had financial difficulties this year, and they need to raise taxes 100%. It was reported that the township hadn't had a tax hike in "too many years". I wonder how many that was?
There are few businesses in East Coventry and fewer tax payers with enormous amounts of money in this economy that seems to get worse every year. We watch oil and gas prices rise through the roof and little we can do about it. These higher oil and gas prices lead to higher food, clothing and housing prices while Americans continue to be screwed by big businesses who want to hire only part time workers,
not give benefits and expect too much from their employees or.....they'll move their business out of the state (like Hershey) and take it to Mexico or China where they are not harnessed by environmentalists and those who continue to raise their taxes and can abuse worker priveleges.
So what I'm saying is....the economy is tanking and East Coventry wants to screw taxpayers even more with a tax raise of not 10%, but 100%.
Thank you board for your infinite wisdom.
Government spending is out of control nationwide, whether it be federal, state or local....
Prepare to dump your tea bags in the schuykill.
