As a woman it is often a little bit of a daunting task to set out on your own for those little 30 minute walks each day. And, when pushing a baby stroller it is nice to have companionship. If there are any moms interested in walking in Spring please let me know- doesn't have to be on a consistent basis, but headphones, I POD and a buddy are supposed to equal great health gains. I have been out of the walking habit during the freeze, but really want to start again. We have some of the best hills next to San Fransisco!! Also, I am curious to know what any other lone walkers do to improve safety awareness. I am constantly pretending to field telephone calls when I see a shady car drive by, and trying to walk when it is light (nearly impossible when waiting for my husband to take care of our son after work so I can take a brisk walk). I'm looking forward to any suggestions- thanks-Julie

Hiya Julie. I'm not a woman, but I do walk and I do have a fairly flexible schedule, and I'd be happy to walk with you. FWIW, I'm a husband and a dad and a pastor (SC United Methodist) and I have papers that say I'm safe
. And I have an ipod too. I understand if you want to say no, though, cuz you did ask for a lady....
Anyhoo, there's a button somewhere around this post if you want to email me

SUPER!!!
My email is in my profile we can set a day.
Anyone is welcome to join in, we'll let you know when we set a day. Its funny as much as I enjoy exercising once I stop I need to have hours of dialog (mostly with myself...:) to start again- weird!

Hi Julie!
I am in Limerick, and used to walk with a friend, but she has moved recently.
I have found myself plopping on the couch instead of lacing up my sneakers and taking my 1 year old out for a walk.
Are you still looking for someone to walk with?
I am a young mom - 22. And do not have many other mom friends and am always looking for more friends!
Let me know..I think my email is in my profile!

I like to walk my dog on the state game lands.
If you go wear orange, especially now.
There are some camouflaged guys hiding behind bushes waiting to whack a deer. Soon small game will open up and the guys who can't hunt because of a lack of skill are trigger happy.
Sundays are usually pretty calm though....for now.
