Medical statistics continue to show an increase in Autism Spectrum Disorders. I am wondering how well the community feels that the county (intermediate unit/ Early Intervention) and healthcare profession as a whole have met the needs for early identification as well as educational materials for parents (who may have concerns). If you have any thoughts on this I would like to know, as I work through a county agency that just posed this question to its healthcare providers working throughout Chester County yesterday. Is there adequate information in the community for early detection of Autistic Spectrum Disorders? Do parents know where to look for help and intervention? Do parents know the signs of the disorder? I appreciate any feedback. Julie
