The best family flick to go see so far this year is Evan Almighty, by a long shot. Evan is told to build an Ark because a flood is coming. He doesn't want to, but, you can't argue for very long with God.
Eventually Evan does start, losing his standing as a Senator for awhile. His wife doesn't understand and leaves for a short while thinking he's having a breakdown. I would have thought that she would have noticed the many animals arriving two by two to their home, but it took her awhile until God had a little talk with her.

So did you see it?
I like Steve Carell and I liked Bruce Almighty. And I'm definitely interested in seeing Evan Almighty, but wondering whether it's a theatre movie or a renter.

My wife talked me into going to this one. I liked it on the big screen when all the animals came to get on the big ark.
It was funny, it had good values and was better than the first one I thought.
Families ought to pick more of these movies so that Hollyweird gets it...we don't want to see the horror crap or Michael Moore or movies with a lot of swearing. I also saw the Nativity (surprised to see that GWB was not in it).

Yeah we did see it in the theater. A fine family flick. I liked Bruce Almighty better, myself. The suspension of disbelief got a little heavy at the end. I really did appreciate, though, the thought of the public scrutiny of building an ark. It wasn't easy!
